摘要：Utilisation of electrostatic sensor elements (2, 3, 31, 41, 51, 71, 91, 100) in anarray to provide an electrostatic image is known. Problems can arise with respect to crosstalk between electrostatic sensor elements (2, 3, 31, 41, 51, 71, 91, 100) and as a result ofexternal electrical sources. By providing a differential input amplifier and taking outputsignals from adjacent or adjoining sensor elements (2, 3, 31, 41, 51, 71, 91, 100) toproviding a differential signal it is possible to improve images. Furthermore, thedifferential input amplifier (7, 32, 42, 52, 53, 58, 74, 95, 101) incorporates decouplingdevices (6, 96) such as capacitors to reduce noise within the output and input signals andthe aspect ratio of the sensor in terms of depth to width can also aid reduction in noiselevels.
