When we talk about China, we may first think of the Forbidden City which is the represent for the feudal dynasty in history. The old name for The Forbidden City is “Zijin Cheng” before the revolution of 1911, which was come from Ziwei Enclosure that stands for the emperor.
The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from Ming dynasty to the end of Qing dynasty. It is located in the center of Beijing. It was built from 1406 to 1420, which means it took 14 years to finish it. What’s more, it impresses us that it consists of 980 buildings and covers 720,000 square meters, which is beyond my imagination. Except that, it was also known for its beautiful landscape architectures and enormous valuable antiques which recorded the history of
China.
Because of these features, the Forbidden City is called one of the world’s five big palaces. Besides, it is listed as world cultural heritage by the United Nations educational scientific and cultural organization. Last but not least, the Forbidden City was the center of the highest power for about 5 centuries, which has been the worthless witness for the history about the Ming and Qing dynasty.
