一、动词不定式作目的状语
1．不定式作目的状语，可以置于句首或句末，置于句首时通常用逗号与其他部分隔开。
She is working hard to learn English well.
为了学好英语她正努力学习。
To catch the early bus，he got up early.
为了赶上早班车，他起得很早。
2．不定式短语的否定形式应该在不定式符号to前面加not。
Let's hurry so as not to be late for school.
我们快点以便上课不会迟到。
She studied very hard in order not to fall behind.
她学习很努力以便不落在别人后面。
3．in order to引导的目的状语，可以放在句首，也可以放在句末；但so as to引导的目的状语，只能置于句末，而不能置于句首。
They started early in order to get there in time.(正)
In order to get there in time，they started early.(正)
They started early so as to get there in time.(正)
So as to get there in time，they started early.(误)
他们早些出发是为了及时到达那里。
4．不定式作目的状语时，通常句子的主语就是它的逻辑主语。但如果不是的话，就要用for...结构表示逻辑主语。

To draw maps properly，a special pen is needed.(误)
为了正确地画地图，你需要一支特殊的笔。

二、结果状语从句
1．so...that...和such...that...引导结果状语从句，意为“如此……以至于……”。
(1)so＋adj./adv.＋that...
She was so excited that she couldn't say anything.
她是如此激动以至于说不出话来。
They played so happily that they forgot the time.
他们玩得如此愉快以至于忘了时间。
(2)so＋adj.＋a/an＋单数名词＋that...
He is so good a boy that we all like him.
他是如此好的一个男孩以至于我们都喜欢他。

PS:当“so...that...”句式中的so及其修饰的形容词、副词一起置于句首时，主句要用部分倒装。

2．so that既可引导目的状语从句，又可引导结果状语从句。引导目的状语从句时，相当于in order that，且从句中要有may，might，can，could，would等情态动词。

他起得很早，结果他准时到达了学校。
